Native American event coming - Wednesday, April 11, 2007

UNCASVILLE, Conn. -- Notah Begay III sat down for lunch with Tribal Leaders from Connecticut and New York to discuss the possibilities of a joint venture.

Notah commented, "Let's just say that when all of those visionary leaders get together to talk about a project, the project will likely be pretty impactful for the Native American community."

Be sure to check back with Notah.com for more information on this event.

OTHER NOTES...

European Tour report

Six events into the 2007 European Tour season, Notah Begay III is taking a few weeks off before getting back on the circuit for the Open de España at the end of April.

"The first three months of the season have been very productive," Notah said. "I only managed to get into contention once but the development of my game is taking shape with good things on the horizon. I will use the off time to continue my physical therapy and conditioning programs, as well as, get some much needed rest."

Notah is 3-3 versus the cut this season. His best finish was at the Madeira Islands Open BPI, where he held the lead several times and finished in a tie for 37th place. Next up will be the Open de España, held in Madrid, Spain, April 26-29.

Notah's thoughts on new UNM coach Steve Alford

Q: What do you think of newly-hired New Mexico men's basketball coach Steve Alford?

NB3: "I was very excited to hear that Steve Alford will be the new men's basketball coach at UNM. I love Lobo athletics and feel that there is tremendous potential to build a great program. I like the fact that coach Alford has both played and coached at the highest level. That will be an asset as he gets acclimated to the New Mexico altitude and green chili."

Q: After a successful basketball career at Albuquerque Academy, winning a pair of state championships, did you ever consider playing college basketball?

NB3: "How many 5-foot-11, 190-pound players play Division-1? That's why I chose golf!"

As some of you may know, I have a golf course design consulting firm called NB3 Consulting.  I started NB3 Consulting in 2002 because I wanted to work with Native American tribes on golf course development projects.  My goal, as always, is to bring the best team possible to the table and to keep the interests of the community first.  We just launched the NB3 Consulting website,
www.nb3consulting.com and I encourage you to spend some time on it if you have the chance. NB3
