Notah Spends Day at Sherman Indian High School - Monday, June 19, 2006

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- In conjunction with the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, Notah had the opportunity to visit the Sherman Indian High School in Riverside, Calif., on Monday, May 22nd. One of the last remaining Indian boarding schools in the country, Sherman Indian High School has a diverse student population and offers Native American students from all over the country a great chance to not only receive a fantastic education but go to school in Southern California.

Notah spoke to the entire school and stressed the importance of using education to navigate through the challenges that the students will face both in and out of the classroom. Although Notah has won more than $5 million dollars on the PGA Tour, he reiterated to the students that the most important thing he has ever done is earn his degree from Stanford University.

After fielding questions from the students, Notah ate lunch with all of the students and got to talk with them about the challenges they face on a daily basis. In addition, Notah put on a golf clinic for the Sherman Indian High School Golf Team at a nearby driving range.

The visit was made possible by the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. For more information on the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians, visit www.sanmanuel-nsn.gov.

As some of you may know, I have a golf course design consulting firm called NB3 Consulting.  I started NB3 Consulting in 2002 because I wanted to work with Native American tribes on golf course development projects.  My goal, as always, is to bring the best team possible to the table and to keep the interests of the community first.  We just launched the NB3 Consulting website,
www.nb3consulting.com and I encourage you to spend some time on it if you have the chance. NB3
