FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NB3 Consulting Hired by Eastern Band of Cherokee to Build Sequoyah National Golf Course

CHEROKEE, N.C. -- The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Tribal Council has approved the development of an 18-hole resort golf course in conjunction with a residential development of up to 95 units for Eastern Band community members. The project not only provides new housing opportunities for Tribal members but the Sequoyah National Golf Course will attract a larger and more diverse group of visitors to the Cherokee community and will expand economic opportunities for the Tribe. The Sequoyah National Golf Course is scheduled to open in the Summer of 2009 and The Eastern Band Tribal Council has chosen NB3 Consulting, LLC (NB3), Landscapes Unlimited, LLC (LU), and the Robert Trent Jones, II (RTJ2) design group to work in conjunction with the Tribe to develop the project.

Four-time PGA Tour winner and President of NB3 Consulting, Notah Begay III was thrilled to learn that the Eastern Band Tribal Council had approved the project and is confident the Sequoyah National Golf Course will be a tremendous resource for the Eastern Band community for generations to come.

"As the only full-blooded Native American on the PGA Tour, I can't tell you how excited I am to personally be involved with this project," says Begay. "I'm confident the golf course will be a tremendous asset for the entire Eastern Band community, golfers and non-golfers alike, moving forward. In addition to the economic opportunities that the course will provide, I am excited to work with the Tribe to launch a junior golf initiative to help teach the Eastern Band youth the principles and life skills that go hand-in-hand with the game of golf."

Landscapes Unlimited, one of the largest golf course development/construction firms in the country, has been working with NB3 and RTJ2 during the project's pre-development and will manage the day- to-day development activities for the project. The famed golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones II, will be leading the golf course design efforts.

"We are both delighted and humbled by the opportunities we have been afforded by our friends in Indian Country," says Jones. "We have always tried to design courses that respect the land and honor their sites, in keeping with our company's environmentally friendly design philosophy and our motto, 'of the earth, for the spirit.' We find our approach fits well with our clients' desire to preserve and reinforce the essential character of the land on which the courses are placed. On the Cherokee site, we have the opportunity to create something unique and timeless. We are also delighted to team up once again with Landscapes Unlimited, and to join with our good friend, Notah Begay III, in a design collaboration which we are confident will produce an exceptional golf course for the Eastern Band Community."

As some of you may know, I have a golf course design consulting firm called NB3 Consulting.  I started NB3 Consulting in 2002 because I wanted to work with Native American tribes on golf course development projects.  My goal, as always, is to bring the best team possible to the table and to keep the interests of the community first.  We just launched the NB3 Consulting website,
www.nb3consulting.com and I encourage you to spend some time on it if you have the chance. NB3
