Welcome to the European Tour - Thursday, November 16, 2006

SAN ROQUE, Spain -- Although he didn't finish like he wanted, Notah Begay III did accomplish his goal of earning full playing privileges on the 2007 European Tour by finishing in the top 30 at the Tour's Qualifying School in Spain.

The 4-time PGA Tour winner shot his highest score of the six-round Final Stage with a 4-over-par 76 in Thursday's final round. Notah finished in a tie for 6th place with a 6-under total score.

"Well, as you can probably surmise, I didn't finish as strong as I would've liked," Notah said. "But if you were to tell me at the beginning of this week that I would've secured a top 10 position in the qualifier I would've been ecstatic.

"I've had a very sub-par year and to finish it off with a steady performance over six rounds gives me great momentum heading into next year and some much-needed rest this off season."

Notah started the Final Stage with an even-par 72 in the first round, good enough for 28th place. From there, he played his way into the top 10 and stayed there for the final four rounds with good putting and solid tee-to-green play.

Notah continued, "I can now enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family, not worrying about where I will be playing next year. What a relief! I can't thank my friends and fans enough for all of their support throughout the year and next year will prove to be exciting an entertaning."
