| American golfer Notah Begay III has revealed how his love affair with football has "reignited the passion" he feels for his own sport. The 34-year-old has been suffering with a serious back injury for six years but now believes he is over the problem. After seven years on the PGA Tour, in which he won four titles, Begay has recently earned a card for next season's European Tour.  And he is looking forward to being able to indulge his love for soccer, having set up a school for Navajo children back in his native New Mexico.Begay believes the beautiful game helped him get his A game back on the golf course, telling BBC Sport: "Football gave me a passion to play again. "I just love it. To see the passion that fans have for their team reignited the passion I have for my golf. "I'm going to enjoy getting to see world-class football every week on the telly, so that's going to be a good part of my trips as well." |
