Notah Helps Toys For Tots - Wednesday, December 06, 2006

San Manuel Indian Nation -- While preparing for next season's European Tour schedule, Notah Begay III took some time to tee off for the Toys For Tots program at the 1st Annual San Manuel Band of Mission Indians Marine Toys for Tots Foundation Golf Tournament.

The 4-time PGA Tour winner pounded one drive after another as he teed-off with each group, helping them all to a good start to their rounds.

"When it comes to charity and raising money for a great cause like 'Toys for Tots' the golf becomes irrelevant, " Notah said. "But should you need to know, I hit every one long and down the middle!"

The San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation teamed up and provided the Foundation with $50,000 to assist with their holiday campaign.

"The U.S. Marine Corps has done a tremendous job keeping the Toys for Tots program alive and strong," Notah said. "With over 7 million toys raised last year, they're hoping to improve upon that number this year and this event, sponsored by San Manuel, is just one of many for this worthy cause.

"My family has a rich and proud tradition of Marine Corps military service so it was an honor to stand side by side with the Marines throughout the days' events."

As some of you may know, I have a golf course design consulting firm called NB3 Consulting.  I started NB3 Consulting in 2002 because I wanted to work with Native American tribes on golf course development projects.  My goal, as always, is to bring the best team possible to the table and to keep the interests of the community first.  We just launched the NB3 Consulting website,
www.nb3consulting.com and I encourage you to spend some time on it if you have the chance. NB3
